The presentation will review best practices from an operational perspective for CEPs. Too often as design engineers we focus on energy efficiency and code compliance, but we may not have the full perspective of the operator. We will review best practices that designers should consider as well as single points of failure that are often overlooked.
Michael Cooper serves as President of ENFRA's Sustainability division, leading efforts to optimize facility performance and drive long-term energy savings for customers. With more than 20 years of experience across design, construction, and service, he is a registered Professional Engineer and LEED Accredited Professional, holding a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Louisiana State University. Michael established and expanded ENGRA's Sustainability division, which now integrates mechanical & electrical service, operations and maintenance, and asset management into a comprehensive solution that supports the full lifecycle of customer facilities. This division currently has over 25 offices around the country servicing clients in 40 states. His leadership is a critical pillar of ENFRA's strategy to deliver operational resilience, energy efficiency, and measurable value in a rapidly evolving infrastructure landscape.
Michael has served ASHRAE in multiple technical committees and leadership roles, including TC 1.9 General Business and Ethics, TC 7.2 Design Build Construction, New Orleans Chapter President, Region 7 Director and Regional Chair, Society Board of Directors, and Foundation Trustee. Additionally, he has been awarded from ASHRAE the Chapter & Regional Awards of Merit, Distinguished Service Award, and Exceptional Service Award.
